Admission Process
What to expect when you or a family member is admitted to Goga Ji Hospital.
How admission works
Admission may be planned, following an outpatient consultation, or immediate, through the emergency department.

The decision to admit
A doctor recommends admission, either at an outpatient appointment or after emergency assessment, and explains why it is needed and roughly how long it is likely to be.

Registration at the admission desk
The patient's details are recorded and a hospital record is created. A family member can complete this while care begins.

Consent
The proposed treatment is explained and written consent is taken from the patient, or from a family member where the patient cannot give it.

Insurance or payment arrangements
If the patient has insurance, cashless approval is initiated with the insurer or TPA. Otherwise, payment arrangements are explained before admission is completed.

Bed allocation and shifting
The patient is moved to a ward bed, or directly to intensive care or a theatre if their condition requires it.

The treating team takes over
The department consultant and nursing team take responsibility for day-to-day care, and are your point of contact for questions.
What to bring
For a planned admission. In an emergency, come first — paperwork can follow.
- Photo identification for the patient
- Insurance or TPA card and policy details, if the patient has cover
- Any referral letter or admission advice from the doctor
- Previous prescriptions, discharge summaries, X-rays and test reports relating to the problem
- All medicines the patient currently takes, in their original packs
- The name and phone number of a contact person
- Basic personal items for the length of stay
Room categories and charges
Room options and charges are explained at the admission desk before you are admitted, so you can choose knowing what each costs. Ask for the estimate in writing if that helps you decide.
